Screen Social: Interview with DOLLFACE director Louis Paxton

A few weeks back, we hosted the first Screen Social to feature the new crop of films which make up the Official Selection for Cannes in a Van’s 2014 season. We also grabbed the filmmakers for a quick interview on the night. Here Louis Paxton talks to Screen Social about his experiences making Dollface, which won Best Comedy at The Van d’Or Independent Film Awards in September 2013. He also chats about funding and entering his film into festivals.

Whirlygig Cinema Returns to East London on 3rd July

Whirlygig Cinema’s SPOTLIGHTS is a short film night that shines a light on the work and practice of outstanding new filmmakers. At each event, three emerging filmmakers are given just half an hour each to showcase and talk about their films, providing a gripping insight into their background, ideas and filmmaking process. At the end of the night they all take part in a Q&A, giving audiences the chance to probe further.
