BAFTA WINNER:Room 8 (dir. James W. Griffiths)

Congratulations to James W. Griffiths who has just won the 2014 BAFTA for Short Film for his short Room 8. The film was written and directed by Griffiths and was an entry into the Imagination Series competition run by Bombay Sapphire (who must be glad of the extra PR). See it while you can online! We’ll be posting two student films tomorrow as part of our Student Film Month, so look out for those.

The third film to feature in our Student Film Month is this short from director Ben Aston, co-written by Aston and Maria Hummer while at the London Film School. It was part of the Official Selection for the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2013 and the London Short Film Festival 2013 among others. As the tagline goes... 'A heartwarming dramady about love, life and prison dating websites...'

Feel Flows (dir. Paris Zarcilla)

Music-based short films are often difficult to categorise but that didn’t stop director Paris Zarcilla ploughing much of his own money into making this cinematic gem which took the Best Music-based Film award at this year’s Van d’Or Awards in September. Paris came down to November’s music-themed Screen Social in London and had a chat to us about the making and funding of the film. His interview (in the cupboard) will be appearing online soon, but for now just enjoy the film…
