A couple more nights and a drive through Paris put pay to the 2012 CiaV trip. This is merely the beginning however, as we soon begin submissions for the Van d’Or Awards in September! Throughout the summer look out for the Van near you!
Another night, another challenge. This time battling the sounds from the big screen on the beach. We also meet filmmaker Bruno Olif and get his view of the Cannes Film Festival.
A successful evening screening on the Croisette with almost no sign of rain. The CiaV crew meets filmmaker & first-time Cannes in a Vanner Miranda Howard-Williams promoting her short Playing Nurse.
After a parking nightmare the CiaV team finally reach the Croisette for the first night’s screenings. A little later than planned, Saturday saw a Screen Social special and French filmmaker showcases his first short (no subtitles!).
Cannes in a Van sets off for a sixth time to the Cannes Film Festival for another adventure in guerrilla cinema. This time though, it’s not in a tired old Transit van with cobwebs on the wing mirrors, half an exhaust or 3 cases of accidentally purchased Panache. No! The old van gets a well earned break while Cannes in a Van looks forward to a new lease of life.
